These stops depend on seasonal availability of bush tucker and point out different types of flora, bush-medicine, mountain ranges, artefact areas and scenic vistas. Your guide will interpret the sites of cultural importance as you drive along the exciting bush track. You will stop for lunch at ‘camel beach’ which is a sandy creek bed and a regular sleeping place for some of the local camel population. You will then proceed back toward base camp in the afternoon for an hour’s rest before heading out on the Goyder’s Pillar Sunset Tour.

Lincartan 2007 This spectacular sunset tour heads out to Goyder’s Pillar, a rock formation very similar to another popular tourist location, Chambers Pillar (which is located south of Alice Springs). The tour approaches the pillar from the east and vehicles are assembled to watch the setting sun turn the rock from its normal ochre to blazing red. This tour takes between two to three hours and is truly something that shouldn’t be missed if you are in the area. The tour includesa relaxed night of chatting around the camp fire. If Lindsay’s mother is visiting, you’ll get a rare treat of seeing how the women grind bush seeds for traditional damper!
